This recipe is so easy, your kids can do it!

Like nearly every other kid ever, my kids certainly enjoy sweets. It's in their genetics seeing  that regardless of how much food I've eaten, I will ALWAYS find room for a piece of candy, a cookie (or four), or a bowl of ice cream.

When it comes to hard candy, it's tough to top Jolly Ranchers. Those little fruit flavored nuggets pack a solid amount of sweet and tangy goodness to satisfy any sweet tooth. Which makes them perfect for creating your own lollipops at home. Here's what you need:

Ingredients

  • 1 bag of original Jolly Rancher Candy
  • 1 bag of lollipop sticks (available at any craft store, or where baking products are sold)
  • Parchment paper

Directions

Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Lay a sheet of parchment paper over a baking sheet. Take two to three Jolly Ranchers and lay them side by side in groups, leaving enough space between the groups to keep them from melting together into one giant glob.

Pop the tray in the oven for five minutes or until the candy has melted. Immediately roll one sucker stick in the lower-middle part of each glob and let cool. Remove and eat.

These are fun for the kids (and the adults) because it allows them to customize their flavors. If they want all grape, the stick three grape Ranchers together. If they want grape, cherry, and blue raspberry, then they can. My kids really have fun coming up with different flavor combinations, and our 9-year-old son has shown enough responsibility that we let him make them on his own.
