The first volunteer-powered, Clean Evansville litter pickup of the new year sets its sights on the Jacobsville Neighborhood, this Saturday morning beginning at 9AM.

The monthly event is the result of a partnership between Keep Evansville Beautiful and Mayor Winnecke's administration that began three years ago in January of 2012. The goal of the event is simple, inspire pride in our city by involving the community in keeping it clean by targeting a different area of the city each month.

Those interested in participating on Saturday are asked to gather at locations near North Main and Division Street to collect litter along streets and through neighborhoods west and north of the intersection.

Teams will be assigned to pick up trash and litter in the following locations; Division Street from First Avenue, Columbia Street from North Main to First Avenue, Harriet Street from Morgan to Columbia, and Franklin Street from North Main to First Avenue.

Teams are asked to meet at the parking lot just west of McDonalds at 20 N. Main Street at the conclusion to deposit trash collected during the clean-up.

Anyone interested in joining or forming a team should contact Cody Morris of Keep Evansville Beautiful at 812-425-4461.
