The Facebook page, Tasty, does such a good job of making food not only look good, but quick and easy as well. After seeing their video for Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken, I decided to give it a try in my own kitchen.

Here's their version:

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken

See how easy that is? Just a few ingredients, and the slow cooker does all the work while you work - or play - or sleep - or whatever.

That part is correct. It wasn't difficult to put together. The most time consuming part was chopping the garlic. I layered it just like the video shows, set the slow cooker to HIGH and let it sit for four hours, per the recipe. It smelled amazing!

Then, the moment of truth. removing the chicken so I could place it under the broiler to crisp up the outside. Remember, their's looked like this:

Mine? Well, not quite the same:

Now let's see them side-by-side:

It should be noted, I bought boneless chicken thighs, when the recipe calls for bone-in because I wasn't paying attention at the store, however I don't think it would have mattered. The four pieces at the bottom sat in hot liquid for four hours so when I tried fishing them out with tongs, they just fell apart, which is generally what you want a slow cooker to do with meat. But I didn't. Not this time, I wanted to cut through it like they do in the video. It clearly did not.

For what it's worth, the flavor was there, and it was really good, so I'll take a "Nailed It" on the taste. But as you can see, when it came to the presentation, there's no doubt here that I "Failed It".

Get the recipe and try it for yourself. I'd love to hear how it turned out for you.
