I've been on a real hummus kick lately, especially once I found Tribe's Hummus with Sriracha at Schnuck's. But instead of spending over $4.00 every time I get a craving, I decided to start whipping up my own with six ingredients for way less money.

In case you didn't catch all that, here's the breakdown:


  • 1 - 15 ounce can of Chickpeas or Garbanzo Beans
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Clove of Garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • Sriracha Hot Sauce


Drain chickpeas, reserving liquid in a small bowl. Combine first six ingredients in a food processor and blend, adding reserved liquid to obtain desired consistency.

Add Sriracha to taste.

Enjoy with pita chips, crackers, vegetables, pretzels, or just eat straight out of the bowl with spoon. It's that good!
