Wild Videos Came Out of Thursday’s Pop Up Storm in IN & KY
Earlier today, my mom asked if any afternoon storms were coming, but both my weather app and the National Weather Service showed nothing to worry about.
Fast forward to this afternoon. I was driving home from Owensboro when, out of nowhere, the wind picked up, the rain started pouring, and lightning flashed all around. In our work group chat, the afternoon DJs and brand managers started talking about switching to our weather partners, Eyewitness News.
I turned on the radio and caught wall-to-wall coverage from Wayne Hart. This pop-up storm completely caught me off guard!

When I finally made it home, I checked social media and saw that the Blue Bridge was closed because of rising water on the Indiana side. I had just driven over it! Then I came across a video from Brianna Whitaker showing 431 in Owensboro. It’s crazy—it looked like the water was about to spill over the road.
Then I saw a post from the Gibson Co. Sheriff's Department about some crazy damage from a possible tornado. I can't embed that but you can see it here. Wayne Hart posted this video from follower, Brandon Buckman, who was right below a developing tornado.
And finally Rosa Maribel Martinez posted a video taken by Rolando Mora of a roof being ripped off a building in Huntingburg.
Wow! What a wild weather event, and it wasn't more than 30 minutes or so. Police are asking that anyone who's not a first responder or resident stay out of the vicinity where the possible tornado went through Princeton.
