This past weekend, we went camping, and while we were gathered around the fire, the kids asked for a spooky story. I'm not exactly a master storyteller on the fly, so I ended up giving them a quick rundown of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Well, they immediately called me out for plagiarism and bad form—definitely not my finest hour!

To redeem myself, I’m taking them to Frankenstein's Lab at the Evansville Museum this Saturday! From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., faculty and students from the University of Evansville, the University of Southern Indiana, and Kentucky Wesleyan will host some fun Halloween-themed demonstrations. There will also be special guests and hands-on activities for the whole family.

Thanks to local businesses sponsoring the event, Chemistry Day will be FREE to attend. Guests are encouraged to wear family-friendly Halloween costumes or dress up like scientists. Hint: anyone can be a scientist, so you're already in costume!

While you are at the Evansville Museum, be sure to check out these other fun exhibits.

A Journey Through Time: Visitors can dive into the past with the newest hands-on exhibition! Explore fossils, handle rocks and crystals, and journey back to the age of dinosaurs and don't miss the display of Mammoth bones in the Hands-on Science Center.
