A Reindeer Rendezvous – Meet Santa’s Magical Sleigh Team in the Christmas Town of Indiana
Free Live Reindeer Event in Santa Claus: A Holiday Tradition
Every year, we try to do something special during the holidays to keep the magic of Christmas alive. Now that my daughter is 12, things are definitely going to feel a little different this year, but there’s no way this mama is giving up on playing Christmas music on repeat, reading all the classic stories, or leaving out cookies for Santa and carrots for his reindeer.
When she was little, she adored Santa, but I think it was the reindeer she loved even more. She watched Prancer over and over again, and honestly, I have to agree—those reindeer are always my favorite part of the Christmas movies. So, when I took her to the first-ever live reindeer event in Santa Claus, Indiana, she was absolutely thrilled.
Of course, while we were in Santa Claus, I couldn’t pass up a visit to my friend Kevin at Santa’s Candy Castle for iced hot chocolates, popcorn, and plenty of candy. The whole day was such a fun experience, and it’s coming back this year, too!
Experience the Magic of Live Reindeer in Santa Claus, Indiana
Santa's TOYS in Santa Claus, IN, is hosting a Live Reindeer Experience on November 30 - December 1 from 11 AM to 4 PM each day. Very cool, right?! But here's the thing - you MUST register and get a ticket for each person in your party. It's pretty simple and quick. You can do that right here.
Give Back This Christmas with Santa's TOYS Toy Drive
Admission is free but hey, be a good human and go in and purchase a toy for the toy drive Santa's TOYS is hosting for local kiddos.
Why Families Love Santa's TOYS Live Reindeer Experience
In years past, owner/operator Mark Schmidt told me that it wasn't easy getting the reindeer to Santa Claus, IN, (as they reside in the North Pole and only make a couple appearances each year) but he really wanted to give back to the local children and families so they made it happen. It's all part of the magic of Christmas.
Plan Your Visit to Santa Claus: Reindeer, Lights, and More
While you are in Santa Claus, be sure to visit the Santa Claus Land of Lights, Santa's Candy Castle - they are bringing back chestnuts roasting on an open fire again this year, the Santa Claus Museum and historic church and of course, let your kiddos make their Christmas wish list at Santa's Toys. With over 3,000 toys at the 'workshop' this place is pretty amazing.
