What Ever Happened to Indiana Hoosiers Coach Bob Knight’s Infamous Chair?
A man, a wild and turbulent career, and a chair. But where is this famous chair these days? Closer to home than you might think.
What is in a name and what is it about the chair?
Well, there's no doubt that whether you follow sports or not, you have heard the name Bobby Knight. He's the infamous rough and tumble, son of a 'beech' basketball coach that had a lot of controversy surrounding his name during the duration of his career.
Mixed with some vulgar language and some assault charges, Bobby Knight was not one to cross. He'd be quick to throw anything at you he could if you did - anything from punches to, well, chairs. One chair lives on in infamy and has us all asking, "Where in the world is Coach Bobby Knight's Chair?"

Knight's Career
Bobby Knight Coached the Indiana Hoosiers for nearly three decades before transferring to Texas Tech for the last seven years of his career. In those almost 30 years in Indiana, the Hoosiers racked up more than 660 wins under the coach, but it didn't come without some debatable tactics and practices. One of the most memorable aspects of his career was his surly temper and foul mouth.

Bobby Knight's Chair and Where It Is Now
It's been 40 years since the chair went spiraling across the court, over the free-throw line, into the press and other game officials at the 1985 Perdue game. Knight was ejected shortly after. It was a moment in sports history that most can remember, even if they didn't catch a live broadcast of the game. It made national headlines.
But where is this flying chair these days? Well, it still calls Indiana University Home and is currently in the possession of the current Hoosier basketball Coach, Mike Woodson. Mike, however, states he doesn't currently have any plans to throw the chair.
