Most people think Holiday World is the best attraction in Santa Claus, IN, but I have to let you in on a secret. My favorite place to visit is about a mile past Holiday World. It's Santa's Candy Castle! It's an actual castle full of CANDY! And they serve up specialty popcorns and frozen hot chocolate. It's my FAVORITE!

And, this holiday season you can experience this Christmas tradition: roasting chestnuts on an open fire. And it's free!

What to Expect

You will hear why chestnut roasting is considered America’s oldest Christmas tradition, how it was nearly lost and the ongoing efforts to preserve it for future generations.

Watch a demonstration of how pioneers prepared chestnuts and roasted them over an open fire using the same tools and techniques that were used long ago.

Everyone is invited to try a freshly roasted chestnut and share their thoughts. Guests from all over the country gather each year to sample the unique flavor and learn more about its place in holiday history.

Guests will also get the chance to use a long-handled roasting pan and try their hand at roasting chestnuts. It is the perfect Christmas photo opportunity.
