Vanderburgh Sheriff Ask for Public’s Help Finding Suspect in Stolen Firearms Case [PHOTO]
Charles Thomas is wanted in connection to stolen firearms found in a vehicle he was driving during a routine traffic stop.
According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Department, a deputy pulled over an SUV near the intersection of Baker and Franklin Streets after noticing the passenger in the vehicle was not wearing a seat belt. As the deputy approached the vehicle, Thomas fled the vehicle on foot while the two passengers remained inside. It was then the deputy noticed a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun laying in plain sight between the the driver and front passenger seats. Further investigation into the firearm revealed that it had been reported stolen in Owensboro.
