Top 5 Restaurants That Need To Open In Evansville
My wife and I took a couple of trips out of town this summer and every couple of exits or so we would pass a food stop that had a restaurant that wasn't in Evansville. Now without a doubt there are lot of places around Evansville to grab a quick bite to eat, but there are still a couple of restaurants that I would like to see make their way here.
Here's a List of the Top 5 Restaurants that I would love to see open here in Evansville:
5. Dave and Buster's - This was one of my favorite places to go when I got out of the Marines and went home to Chicago. The only things close to D&B's that we have here are, of course, Walther's Golf N Fun in Evansville, and Family Entertainment Center out in Newburgh.
4. The Cheesecake Factory - despite the name, the Cheesecake factory sells a lot more that just cheesecakes but MAN are their cheesecakes good! Many celebrities have been seen gorging themselves on one of their many delicious deserts.
3. Harold's Chicken Shack - Although this isn't a national chain, they have almost 100 different locations in the Chicago and surrounding areas including northern Indiana near Gary. The Mild sauce that they use is a house recipe, and is absolutely delicious.
2. Portillo's - My wife likes the Dipped Italian beef Sandwich they sell so much that we had to visit it TWICE when we were up north. The drive-thru lines can get so long that they have special cashiers that come out to your car and take your orders on tablets.
And the #1 restaurant that I would like to see come to Evansville is .... drum roll please ... BOSTON MARKET! I first tasted Boston Market's Rotisserie Chicken when I was a Sophomore in High School. Student were allowed to leave campus for lunch and a large part of the student body could be found in line trying to get a quick 2-piece with a side of cornbread with ACTUAL CORN in it! I often see Boston Market commercials on the television only to be sadly reminded that WE DON'T HAVE ONE HERE!
If you could bring ANY restaurant to the tri-state, which one would it be? Leave your answers in the comment box and I'll read them during the show!
