This Book is a Great ‘Behind the Seams’ Look for Dolly Parton Fans
My sweet husband picked out the perfect present for me for Valentine's Day this year. He gave me Dolly's coffee table book, "Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones" and I just love it so much I have to share it with you!
Dolly is celebrating her fashion journey through the years with her new book, "Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones." In it, she tells stories about how she has curated a look that is all her own and pays tribute to the designers and stylists who helped her along the way. She has definitely undergone an evolution over time as she blossomed from her casual country look to a more glamorous persona, but the same charming and generous personality remains. Here's a look at her Coat of Many Colors era.
Big blonde hair, long fingernails, bold makeup, high heels, rhinestones, and a teeny little waist. These are all features of arguably the most iconic fashion diva of all time. Dolly Parton has one of the most legendary looks in all of music history. Her wig evolution has been pretty great too.

As she once famously said, "It costs a lot of money to look this cheap." Although her self-proclaimed "gaudy" dresses and jewelry may not be everyone's cup of tea, they fit her perfectly.
In her book, Dolly tells us about how she has literally gone from wearing feed sack dresses as a little girl to couture gowns made of the finest materials and gems by the biggest names in fashion.
Along with pictures of all the denim and diamonds, the stories behind the looks, the songs that inspired them, the makers who made them are told from Dolly's point of view. This is an amazing way to honor the folks who have helped her curate an image that is undeniably Dolly. You know she has the best stories too!
It's a great read to keep on the coffee table or maybe at your desk at the office for when you need a little brain break. Here's the link to purchase. Michael found my copy at Target on sale, so you may check there too!
