That Time Wrestler John Cena Talked a Buncha Smack About Kentucky
If you follow wrestling at all, you already know that long time favorite John Cena announced 2025 will be his final year in the ring. This past week, he made his first appearance on WWE.
As soon as his theme music started playing, the crowd started booing. Cena gave a big speech about how he has only ever given of himself but never gotten anything in return from fans. "I don't care about you. You don't matter to me," is what he said. How mean! It's really weird seeing him turn into a heel. Other than his Dr. of Thuganomics phase, he's always been a good guy.
Except. I came across old footage of him being a real butthead. "What the hell is Kentuckiana?" he asked. Then he proceeds to rant about how he is from California where people know how to talk correctly. "You cant even pronounce the names of your major cities." Mocking "Louisville" by drawing out the syllables of "LOO-UH-vull."
Really driving the nail into the coffin he says, "Take it from me. Take it from us. We're from California. We know how to talk. It's LEWIS-ville." Repeating it a couple of times, its almost like he know how much Kentuckians HATE when people pronounce Louisville that way and he's just doing it to get a rise out of people. It's giving HEEL!

Here is the clip of the smack-talking in question.

Someone in the comments said, "How you can tell someone is from Kentucky with out asking." SO true! Another commenter must be feeling pretty brave, they say, "Wait till I catch Cena in Louisville!" The best was the person who wrote, "…whose speaking? All I'm seeing is somebody holding a microphone."
