Snow is Likely this Week in Indiana & Illinois but Will We See Any Accumulation?
Winter is Coming to Indiana & Illinois: Are You Ready for Snow in the Midwest?
I hope you’ve already grabbed your coveralls and snow boots because winter’s just around the corner! It’s been a balmy 70 degrees here in Evansville this week, so you'd think we’re safe from any winter weather. But hey, this is the Midwest—anything can happen!
Will There Be Any Accumulating Snow in Indiana?
According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, snow is likely in the northern part of the state. "Potential for the first snowflakes of the season Wednesday night and Thursday, though only limited accumulation on grassy surfaces, if any, are possible. Gusty winds up to 35 mph at times return Wednesday through Friday."
Will There Be Any Snow in Illinois?
Northern Illinois is also predicted to receive some snow too. The National Weather Service out of Chicago relayed that there's a chance for snow in their forecast as well on Wednesday Night. "A chance of rain before 8pm, then a chance of rain and snow between 8pm and 10pm, then a chance of snow after 10pm." Then, on Thursday, they'll see more snow in the morning and then again at night.
Will There Be Any Snow in the Southern Parts of the States?
Snow is not forecasted for southern parts of the states but some meteorologists aren't ruling it out completely. What we do know is that it will be a LOT colder than 70 degrees. Down here in the "south" we are going to drop to temps in the 20s on Thursday.
