Cam Thompson Isn’t Holding Back on “Sober Side of Sorry” — And We’re Here For It
Original music in Western Kentucky has been HOT lately, with local bands and solo acts taking the world by storm. Today, singer-songwriter Cam Thompson has released a brand new song to lots of excitement.
It’s called “Sober Side of Sorry." Cam collaborated with a couple of other songwriting friends to bring it to life. First, working on it with Mitchell Douglas (from Sons of Habit), Cam then took it to Travis Chaney (from Ace High Music) to add some finishing touches on the lyrics.
"Mitchell and I sat down, and I told him I wanted to write something with a deeper meaning than anything we’ve written before. I already had the title in mind, and we ended up writing about someone who is struggling with alcohol addiction, and how that can drive away the ones you love," Cam shared. Mitchell and Cam have been pals since elementary school days, so it's great to see them still collaborating and having fun after all these years.
"It’s still one of my favorite writing sessions to date." Once the song was ready to go, Matt Leigh from Starstruck Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, produced it to perfection. Starstruck is Reba McEntire's studio, by the way, no biggie. "I’m real excited for everyone to hear it because it’s probably my favorite song yet," Cam said. We totally agree!
