Meet the Mascots For Kentucky Kingdom’s New Discovery Meadow
Just a few months ago, Kentucky Kingdom announced new, exciting developments. Six acres of the Louisville theme park will be transformed into Discovery Meadow. A family-friendly area with new rides, restaurants, activities, and so much more.
Kentucky Kingdom Announces New Kentucky Themed "Discovery Meadow" Land
I love how everything is Kentucky themed! From Blooms BBQ & Grill, to the live Bluegrass music they have planned, to the Goldenrods planted around the meadow, it's a celebration of the things that make our state special. Even the rides will be named appropriately. Redbird Racer, Scout's Squirrel Race, and Cumberland Express.

Redbird, of course, is for the Cardinal, our official state bird. Cumberland Express is named after the lakes, mountains, and rivers in Eastern Kentucky. Did you know the gray squirrel is our official state wild animal?
Kentucky Kingdom Discovery Meadow Mascots
I guess it just makes sense then that one of the new mascots of Discovery Meadow is a gray squirrel named Scout. You'll get to meet him and ride his "Squirrel Race." Scout is the friend and sidekick of the other Discovery Meadow mascot, Robin Bloom. Robin was born in Discovery Meadow, which we learn from this new video is not just Kentucky-inspired. It is also inspired by Robin's Dutch heritage. That explains the adorable wooden shoe ride in the original teaser.
Robin looks super cute! Her backstory is that she grew up in the meadow playing in the dirt with her family and friends like Scout and other native Kentucky forest animals. She is the guardian of Discovery Meadow and you can visit her magical world when you visit this upcoming 2025 season.
Discovery Meadow will be open on Saturday, May 10th. It looks like a lovely space for families with younger kiddos to explore.
