You absolutely do not have to be a baseball mom to appreciate this life hack I recently came across. In fact, if you are a baseball mom, you may already know it. First, I have to wonder why in the world are white pants so popular in a sport where kids often slide through dirt and grass? They do look pretty sharp, but I know they are hard to keep clean.

My child is not a sporty one, but from the first year of his life through 1st grade, the boy loved to play in the dirt. I could plop him down in a pile, and he would go to town with diggers and shovels for hours! I wish I had known this trick because we ended up just having a separate set of clothes for dirt that had permanent stains on them.

TikTok, where all my good life hacks come from these days, has all kinds of videos of folks using this tip. It looks so easy and actually a little satisfying. All you have to do is take your dirt-covered baseball pants and lay them in your driveway. You could do this with any heavily soiled item of clothing. I would just make sure they are a heavy-duty type of fabric.

Then, grab a power washer. Stand on the waistband of the pants, turn the power washer on, and get to spraying. Work from the waist down the legs to the ankles, and you will be amazed at how easily the britches go from filthy to bright white.

@michelleconover3 Spring means baseball season! As much as every mom loves scrubbing grass and dirt stains out of white baseball pants, I have found my favorite way! Little fels-naphtha bar and then pressure wash! Done in 1 min! Be mindful of feet/skin, pressure washers are brutal! #baseballlife #baseballmom ♬ Takin' Care Of Business - Bachman-Turner Overdrive

Some folks prep the pants with a laundry soap of some kind. The person in this video used Fels-Naptha. It's super cheap and you can find it for less than $2 at anywhere from Walmart to Rural King. Or, you can just wait til after you power wash and then toss them in the washer for a soap wash.

You do want to be careful not to accidentally point the washer at your toes, as that would probably really hurt! Otherwise, this looks like a genius idea. Another great idea from our friend Sherril from Evansville who chimed in on our App chat, "When we traveled with softball teams, the husbands would bring them to a car wash and do the same thing...worked very well."
