Gather friends and family, bundle up, and help keep our city looking good this weekend.

The Clean Evansville initiative is a partnership between Mayor Lloyd Winnecke's office and Keep Evansville Beautiful, and is designed to encourage the public to take pride in the city by lending a hand and picking up litter in different areas.

This Saturday's event will focus on areas on Evansville’s Eastside beginning at 9am. Those interested in volunteering are asked to gather at locations near the intersection of Washington Avenue and Boeke Road. From there, some teams will head to the intersection of Washington and Weinbach avenues before moving east on Washington towards Villa Drive. Other teams will begin working in the Lorraine Park area as well as the area surrounding Ross Center, according to a press release from Keep Evansville Beautiful.

All trash collected will then be taken to the parking lot at Lorraine Pool for deposit. Trash bags and glove will be provided for all volunteers. Anyone interested in joining or forming a team should call Keep Evansville Beautiful at 812-425-4461.
