We can all do our parts to make the world a better place by volunteering or donating to local non-profits. Not only will you be helping others, but you'll feel good about doing it. It's easier than ever, especially if you make plans to drive through Glenn Funeral Home's Give & Go event tomorrow.

Each month, the folks at Glenn's choose a non-profit organization for which to collect donations. I've had the pleasure of attending Glenn's Give & Go events to benefit the Daviess County Animal Shelter, Beverly's Hearty Slice, the Help Office, and the Daniel Pitino Shelter. This month, they are collecting donations to benefit Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Glenn's has a crew that spends the day collecting donations at 900 Old Hartford Rd. here in Owensboro.  All folks have to do is just drive under the awning to the right of the building (there are signs to guide you) and drop off your items.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace of Owensboro

This month's non-profit is Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Their mission is to make sure no child sleeps on the floor in this town. According to their website, "As an international organization, Sleep in Heavenly Peace utilizes local community funding and volunteers to build beds for kids ages 3-17 who are sleeping on the floor or less than ideal situations."
The good news is, you can help! As you do your shopping, toss a couple of these things in your cart and bring them to Glenn's Give & Go this month:
  • Twin size sheets
  • Twin size comforters/ quilts/ blankets
  • Twin size bed-in-a-bags
  • Pillows

When is Glenn's Give & Go?

Drive-thru donations will be accepted at the funeral home from 10 AM - 2 PM on March 5th. I'll be there broadcasting live and helping unload cars!  If you can't make it this week, but still want to give, donations can be dropped off inside the funeral home.
