‘American Idol’ Lovers Maddie Poppe and Caleb Lee Hutchinson Are ‘Reading Each Other’s Minds’ on Tour
American Idol's not-so-secret lovers Maddie Poppe and Caleb Lee Hutchinson are still going strong.
While catching up with Entertainment Tonight during rehearsals for the upcoming American Idol Live! 2018 Tour, the Season 16 champion and her runner-up beau gave an update on how their relationship has fared since the singing competition wrapped back in May.
"It's awesome. I mean, it's like we get each other," Poppe gushed, adding, "We're already reading each other's minds, knowing what were gonna do next."
"Yeah. It's weird. It's like dueting with yourself, almost," Hutchinson quipped of his and Poppe's connection.
Poppe and Hutchinson, who competed on the last season of American Idol, began dating during the competition. They kept their couple status a secret until the May 21 finale, when the two admitted they were dating publicly.
Days after the finale, Hutchinson revealed why they kept their relationship a secret, telling Us Weekly that even though "people suspected" they were a couple, they didn't want a label to interfere with the competition.
