The fear of bridges is known as Gephyrophobia, and the whole state of Washington just became one Thursday evening.

A section of the Interstate 5 bridge between the towns of Burlington and Mount Vernon, just north of Seattle collapsed into the river sending drivers and their vehicles into the water below.

Eyewitnesses told news crews on the scene a truck carrying an oversize load had struck the bridge just before the collapse, a report confirmed by Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste this morning.

Miraculously no one was killed, and only three people were taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries.

The Associated Press has released raw video footage of the collapse from a helicopter on the scene. Raw footage means there is no commentary, just video.

And here's is an ABC News report on the incident.
