Flying can be a real hassle. You’re trying to keep up with documents, get to your gate before boarding, and of course, you've got to follow all the rules. I'll admit, I’ve been caught with a drink in hand, only to find out it has to be tossed before I can get thru TSA. There’s nothing worse than having to dump that $7 Starbucks coffee right before your flight. Thankfully, I’ve never had to toss anything valuable, but I do know a lot of guys who work manual jobs and always have a knife on them—those tend to get confiscated pretty quickly.

This past February, TSA shared some items that were confiscated:

“TSA officers around the country will find thousands of prohibited items today. This is just a small glimpse of what our workforce does daily to protect the traveling public. Please be patient with our officers as they work hard to ensure you make it to your destination safely.”

Ever had one of those surprise confiscations? One passenger in Illinois did recently.

This Umbrella Got "The Dog" in 'em!

There has been a lot of vocalization online about a unique umbrella discovered in a passenger's carry-on at the world-known Chicago airport on National Umbrella Day. From remarks about the passenger being John Wick or even The Penguin from Batman.

This passenger at Chicago O'Hare International Airport must have expected a sharp drop in temperature, only to have to leave their rain guardian behind. While bladeless umbrellas are good to go as a carry-on item, be sure to check with your airline for any size or weight restrictions. - Transportation Security Management

At first glance, the umbrella seemed harmless, but it was anything but. Hidden away in the handle was a a dagger-like knife. While the umbrella was really cool and reminded me of a James Bond villian, airlines and airport security would much prefer you leave such items at home or in your car.

Now, the big question: Did the owner know there was a hidden weapon tucked inside? Some online commenters are definitely wondering the same thing.

International Super Spy

There is a lot of interest in the weaponized umbrella. Are you curious about how to obtain your very own? I've taken the guesswork out for anyone looking to add this to their collection or engage in international espionage. Here is a website where you can purchase both umbrellas and canes with concealed swords.

Keep in mind some states have stricter laws regarding concealed weapons than others, always keep that in mind when purchasing. Discover the craftsmanship found in their products but know it will set you back a handsome penny, however, it will make you feel like James Bond as soon as you click "add to cart."

Can You Name All the Famous Hollywood Vehicles on Display at the Volo Museum in Illinois? [QUIZ]

The Volo Museum is also family-friendly, with a vast collection of vehicles that kids and big kids will appreciate, like the Flintmobile and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Turtle Van, as well as antique kiddie rides and an old-fashioned arcade! It all sounds too good to be true, but it clearly lives up to the hype based on the positive experiences detailed by reviewers and is sure to be a hit for any family looking to try something a bit different on their next trip near Chicago.
