If you or someone you know in Vanderburgh County has a few old tires laying around taking up space for whatever reason, your chance to finally get rid of them is this Saturday.

The annual Tire Recycling Day for Vanderburgh County residents only is this Saturday in the Civic Center parking lot in downtown Evansville from 8am-Noon. Up to four car or light truck tires will be accepted free of charge for recycling by Invironmental Technologies and the Vanderburgh County Solid Waste District. Residents with more than four will be charged one dollar per extra tire. Not a bad price to pay to have someone else take care of your problem if you ask me. Larger tires will also carry an additional charge, so if you plan on hauling in some old tractor tires, expect to pay more.

The recycling program is open to county residents only. Tires from county businesses will not be accepted.
