So you know all about the solar eclipse that happened Monday because the news talked about for weeks prior to the event. If you watched it here in Indiana though it was a different experience than in Kentucky. In Evansville it was a 98% solar eclipse meaning it never reached the total eclipse.

I was fortunate enough to go watch it happen in Central City Kentucky and it was quite the experience. Where I was it reached 100% eclipse. This was a game changer than it was in Indiana. I watched as the moon covered the sun with the special glasses to the point where there was nothing to look at with the glasses. That was when it was total eclipse and you can look at it without the glasses. It looked like a black ball with a light ring around it. It was one of the coolest things I had ever seen unfortunately it only lasted about a minute.

The other part was what it did to the environment. Once the moon covered the sun, it looked like dusk and the automatic porch lights came on. The weirdest part was the Cicadas started to chirp like they do in the evening. This was weird to see since it was 1:30 in the afternoon. Now I know what it is like to live in Alaska.

The next solar eclipse is said to take place in 2024 and it will be 100% eclipse in the southern indiana area. If you have to travel I suggest you do because it is worth seeing a total eclipse.
