
June 18 Severe Weather Alert: Enhanced Risk in Parts of Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois

Yesterday, I reported that the region is in for a wild week of weather and so far Mother Nature has delivered. Yesterday, she dumped a ton of rain on us. Though the flooding wasn't as bad as last weekend, we were all pretty soggy by the end of the day. And,
According to the NWS:
The risk for scattered to numerous strong to severe thunderstorms continues to increase for late Wednesday through Wednesday evening. Damaging winds, large hail, and a few tornadoes are possible.
The National Weather Service posted that there is a very low risk for tornadoes but we could see damaging winds up to 78 mph along with severe thunderstorms and possible hail up to 1.5 inches.
TIMING
We will probably see these storms around 11 AM - 2 PM here in the tri-state.
SATURDAY - MONDAY
This weekend, the hits just keep on coming. After all this rain, the humidity will be off the charts, and June is bringing the heat. With temps in the 90s, it will be hot, humid, and totally miserable.
The hottest temperatures and heat index values of the season will arrive this weekend and continue into next week. Daily peak heat index values of 100 to 105 degrees are forecast.
