See the Lighting of the Official City of Evansville Christmas Tree This Friday
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke will welcome the start of the holiday season with the lighting of the Official City of Evansville Christmas Tree in front of the Civic Center on this Friday, November 18, at 5:15pm.
The Harrison High School Choir, led by Choir Director Anne Pritchett, will perform and Mayor Winnecke will offer a few remarks before starting the countdown to turn on the Christmas tree lights. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Special thanks to Tom and Bonnie Small for donating a 25-foot-tall Blue Spruce for the City’s holiday display and to SKANSKA for donating the crew and equipment to cut down the tree and transport it to the Civic Center. The tree will arrive Downtown by 8 a.m. on Monday, November 14. It will be decorated with approximately 30,000 lights donated by Advanced Network and Computer Services.
The Christmas tree will remain on display in front of the Civic Center building through the holiday season and will be removed sometime after January 1, 2017.
