
The Rodeo is Rolling Into Southern Illinois and You Can Win Tickets
If you've never experienced the thrill of bull and bronc riding, roping, steer wrestling, and barrel racing, it's time to dust off your cowboy boots and head to Palestine, IL, for a whole weekend of fun at the Pioneer City Rodeo.
From August 29 through August 31, the cowboys and cowgirls of Pro Rodeo will be showing off their skills and competing for payouts in:
- Steer wrestling
- Team roping
- Saddle bronc riding
- Tie-down roping
- Barrel racing
- Bull riding
Rodeo Weekend in Palestine, Illinois: August 29–31
Get ready for a weekend packed with rodeo excitement, live music, great food, and family-friendly activities. From bull riding to drone shows, Palestine, Illinois, is the place to be this Labor Day weekend.
Rodeo Performances Start at 7 PM
Each night kicks off with Pro Rodeo events including bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, and team roping. The National Anthem will be performed before each show:
Friday: Jake & Mikayla
Saturday: Laura Dunlap
Sunday: Tucker Scott
Beer Tent and Live Music Every Night
After the rodeo, head to the beer tent where the good times keep rolling. Entry is just $5, and beer is priced at six for $20 or $4 each. Live music starts at 9:30 PM nightly and goes until close.
Friday and Saturday Drone Shows
Stick around after the rodeo on Friday and Saturday nights for a high-flying drone light show that will light up the sky over Palestine.
Family Fun on Main Street
Chuckwagon Breakfast
Start your Saturday with a chuckwagon breakfast at 7 AM. Pancakes and sausage are free, but donations are welcome.
Main Street Fair
The Main Street Fair runs from 7 AM to 4 PM and features a full schedule of entertainment and activities:
Shelby Jones performs from 7 to 9 AM
Terry Fouty Jr. performs from 12 to 2 PM
Collectors belt buckle auction begins at 9:30 AM
Miss Rodeo Illinois Pageant runs from 10 to 11 AM
Junior Pedal Tractor Pull starts at 10 AM
Little Labor Day Pageant begins at 3 PM
Antique gas engine exhibit and swap meet happening all day
Supermatic band plays at the park from 4 to 6 PM
Food Trucks and Inflatables for All Ages
The Food Truck Court will be open daily:
Friday, August 30 at 3 PM
Saturday, August 31 at 3 PM
Sunday, September 1 at 3 PM
Inflatables for kids will be available during the following times:
Friday, August 29 from 3 PM to 10 PM
Saturday, August 30 from 2 PM to 10 PM
Sunday, August 31 from 12 PM to 10 PM

Got a little cowpoke? Register them with the Chamber of Commerce for mutton bustin'!
Safety First: Free Rides Home
Please do not drink and drive. Free rides home will be provided by Wad It Up starting at 11 PM each night.
