Owensboro Has Two Huge Church Rummage Sales This Weekend & We Peeked Inside

Bring on all of the delightful bargains out in West Daviess County.  There are two very large rummage sales in the Owensboro area and you NEED to go.

St. Mary Magdalene and St. Alphonsus in St. Joe beyond West Louisville on HWY 56 west of Owensboro are having their huge seasonal rummage sale.

I am quite partial to these two church rummage sales for many reasons;

• They have their crap together.
• They are organized.
• Their prices are amazing.
• The stuff they are selling is in good condition.
• They are friendly and always happy to see you.
• I never fail to find at least one thing at both sales (ok like 10 things).
• They have a good selection of everything from clothing to household items.

A few weeks ago I shared a story about my most special yard sale find and I'd love to share another.  The first year I attended their sale I found a soup pot with fruit on it.  I was excited because my momma had given me one before she passed away.  Ironically, each year when I go back there is always another pot or pan with a white background and fruit.  They are not a matching set but they mean the world to me.  This year I found the large deep skillet with a lid.  I am so excited because I have needed one and it's perfect.  I told the ladies I need for them to arrange a matching dish set for next year LOL!

The St. Alphonsus sale is Friday from 7:00 - 5:00 and Saturday from 7:00 - 11:00. Volunteers are needed for all timeframes to help cashiers, bag items, and straighten tables.  If you would like to volunteer I am sure they could use you!
