****WARNING!!****If you're squeamish or afraid of needles, then you might need to turn away and have someone else read this to you!

Now that we've got that out of the way, this weekend I donated plasma at the CSL Plasma center on Weinbach for the first time in over 4 years, and I gotta say that it wasn't as bad of an experience as I seemed to remember.

Since it had been so long, I had to go through a complete physical exam, and answer a very long health questionnaire! But on the plus side, they've automated the questionnaire to help speed up the process, and the wait wasn't long at all.

From start to end, it only took about 2 hours, but that's because the initial intake took over an hour. The plasma drawing process only took about 45 minutes and it was ALMOST painless! I have code "yellow" veins, which means that they are under my muscle, and can be difficult to find for a new employee. But one of the senior techs came over and found it with minimal effort.

All in all it was a good experience and they compensated me with cash for my time! So if you wanna help make life saving medicines, and earn a couple extra bucks, try donating plasma @ CSL. Just as long as you're NOT afraid of blood or needles!
