Since entering office nearly two years ago, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke has made healthy living a top priority for his office with his Energize Evansville campaign and its monthly "Fitness in the Park" events which encourage the public to come out and enjoy a couple of hours of exercise in an effort to get in better shape.

The next event takes place this Saturday at Lorraine Pool on South Boeke Road, and will be the second “Summer of Swimming” water aerobics session.

Running from 9 to 11 a.m. The pool exercises will be led by instructors with Tri-State Athletic Club and will be broken down into four 30-minute segments including Warm-up Aqua Zumba at 9 a.m., Water in Motion Shallow Cardio Splash at 9:30 a.m., Pool-aties at 10 a.m. and Copper “toned” Muscle Definition and Cool-Down at 10:30 a.m. Participants may join any of the programs and are recommended to wear aqua shoes.

All fitness levels are welcome, and participants can go at their own pace. Lifeguards will be present to monitor children during the workout sessions.
