Lil’ Kim Defends Rich Homie Quan’s Botched Biggie Performance
Rich Homie Quan has been getting it from all angles since his botched performance of The Notorious B.I.G.'s verse off "Get Money" at VH1's Hip-Hop Honors. And rightfully so. But another person close to the situation has stepped up to defend the Atlanta MC. Lil' Kim, who is the one who invited RHQ to rock out at the event, is giving the "Flex" rapper a pass for his mess up.
The Queen Bee recently sat down for an interview with Sway where she opened up about how the whole situation went down, clarifying why Quan was even up there in the first place, as many questioned the choice. According to the Kim, she invited other well known artists to join in the set but was not able to pin down anyone because of prior engagements. But RHQ was down to help out.
“He’s a friend of mine, and I’ve known him for a little while,” Kim told Sway. “He’s always good to me…and he didn’t question anything. He just jumped on that plane. And the whole thing was he was coming to fuck with Lil' Kim. He was coming to support Lil' Kim. He did not know at that time that he was going to be performing ‘Get Money.’ He didn’t know that.”
Kim said the rehearsal for the song went off without a hitch. But clearly when it was go time things got weird. “He was very nervous,” she continued. “He’s such a good person. He was like, ‘It’s an honor that y’all would even put me in this position to fill such big shoes.’"
While Kim is able to easily shake off the blunder, the Internet has not, as they have properly gone in on Quan via hilarious memes. Even other rappers like Joey Bada$$ and The Game and Problem have ragged on the A-Town rappper.
Quan has since apologized for the debacle but later made things worse by blaming a teleprompter on his mistake.
