Is Kissing Your Kids on the Mouth Gross or Beautiful?
This week, Victoria Beckham stirred up controversy when she posted an Instagram photo of her kissing her daughter, Harper, on the lips. Some people thought this was out of line.
The comments ranged from complimentary to commenting about how they felt like the photo was too sexual in nature. Some people even felt "uncomfortable" when viewing the photo.
So, we wondered what our listeners thought. Here's our favorite comments and photos.
Carter Smith Not inappropriate at all;) Love giving my little girl mommy kisses <3
Geri Marie Crow Wow people are ridiculous! It's a mom showing her little one affection. I do not have kids and do not see anything wrong with this. I kiss my little cousins at this age the same way. They tell me cheek kisses aren't real kisses from a loved one
Janet D Witherspoon Then Im guessing g this is a huge issue.
Kimberly Crowe My grandmother use to try and kiss me like this and I hated it!! My mother kissed my cheeks and cuddled me but didn't smooch me on the mouth, if my mom ever did it had to be when I was an infant. I distinctly remember getting in the car with my Mom after leaving Grandmas house, I was 5yrs old, I told my Mom it was so gross and I wanted Grandma to stop it!! My mom just said always turn your head. I was so happy the day I out grew my Grandma and we she tries to kiss me now it hits my neck. It still skives me out but I endure not to hurt her feelings. Personally, I don't due it with the little kids I keep or would with my own children cause I know it made me very uncomfortable. I think cheeks kisses express love along with hugs and I love you just fine without the mouth kisses. But its America to each their own.
Kourtney Knarian I don't see anything wrong with it. I love giving my little girl kisses. She was a month old in this picture she is now 4.5 months old :)
THE ROB: To me, there is nothing at all weird about kissing your family on the mouth. The only people who make it weird are the ones who claim that it is, because you're taking it down a whole weird road that we kissers never went down. Chill out, you unloved weirdos.
Kat Mykals: I absolutely see nothing wrong with kissing your children on the lips. I did it when my daughter was younger. In fact some of my favorite pictures look almost identical to the one with Beckham. Now that Elizabeth is older (17) I do good if I get a hug out of the kid or a kiss on the cheek. The days of lip kisses are long gone.
