With the weather warming up, it is time to get that grill fired up! There is just nothing better than a good ole grilled piece of meat. Maybe with a side of roasted veggies and a baked tater. OK, now I'm hungry.

My dad was a meat man, and he loved to cook. He was always experimenting with different flavor combinations when it came to making the perfect pork chop or chicken breast. Even though Lawry's was his go-to, he would also use a seasoning called Dan-O's.

It quickly became a favorite of mine because even though it is healthier than other seasonings, it doesn't skimp on flavor at ALL. If you have ever used one of the umpteen different spice combos, you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, you better get with it! You are missing out!

About a month ago, a video popped up on my TikTok for you page of Dan Oliver himself making Parmesan crusted potatoes. They look RIDICULOUSLY good. Or as one commenter put it, "looks so Dan good."

  I kept scrolling and saw they were at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville.

After clicking on the website link to browse the different products, I noticed the "About" section and became curious. Lo and behold, Dan-O's was born right here in Kentucky!

"Dan-O’s Seasoning was founded in 2015 by Louisville, KY native, Dan Oliver. Dan’s passion was based on flavor alone, then he realized when he used premium ingredients, real sea salt and no sugar or additives, that he could inspire the world to make healthy food choices without sacrificing flavor."

He had experimented with seasonings since college, but it wasn't til he was working at a restaurant that he received the spark that would inspire his business. Every time he made his special chicken for family, friends, and patrons, they went wild about it.  “I had a lightbulb moment and said, ‘Sell the seasoning, not the chicken — I’ll call it Dan-O’s’”

Now, twelve flavors are featured in his shop. Everything from the original, to the Cheesoning, to Cajun, to Italian. He even has his own taco seasoning that will make you never pick up a packet again.
