Goose vs Tiger Smackdown at the Columbus Zoo Is Pure Gold [VIDEO]

Last week, I had the pleasure of interviewing Gabby the goose at Owensboro Health. She returns every spring to make her nest, have her babies, block the road, and sass anyone who doesn't like it.

When the weather turns nice in the Midwest, these feathered friends can be found in abundance, especially in nicely manicured lawns, bodies of calm water like ponds or small lakes, or big open fields.  These types of habitats are often found in zoos across the country. Fun fact: I was aggressively stalked by a goose at the Louisville Zoo a few years ago. I still have dreams about it sometimes, no kidding. It was pecking at my rings on my fingers while I hollered and carried on.

I Should Have Been Worried About the Tiger...

Anyway, I have always wondered what birds like that think of the other animals in the zoo. The other day, I found my answer in the form of a TikTok video. As the clip begins, you see the Tiger creeping toward the goose. My initial reaction (although I should have known better) was to gasp and say, "Oh noooooo this doesn't look good." I guess I had repressed my goose memory enough to be worried about the visitor to the Tiger's enclosure. I should have been worried about the Tiger...

I watched this SmackDown SO many times! Sent it to my friends, showed my family, and we all laughed to tears. The comment section was even funnier, though:

I fully thought I was about to witness a murder. I’m glad the tiger got away unharmed!

Goose: “I’m not trapped in here with you… You’re trapped in here with me!!!

Life lesson here: just because the odds are against you, doesn't mean you can't fight like hell and change those odds. Tiger survived against the immense odds.

Mind you, the goose can just leave whenever it wants, it CHOSE to stay and bully the poor kitty
