It's no secret the love I have for the city of Chicago. Whether it be cheering for the Cubs or Blackhawks or enjoying their style of pizza, I love Chicago. This past weekend, I got to spend some proper time in the city along with my lady.

Our main reason for going was to see Hamilton: An American Musical. She got me the tickets way back in February and it was finally time to see the musical LIVE!

The musical was, of course, a masterpiece. I may or may not have seen a bootleg version of the show a while back, but nothing compares to seeing it in person. And while the original cast hung it up long ago in New York, the Chicago company are some of the most talented individuals working. If you ever get a chance to see the show, do it!

After the show, we headed to Wrigleyville to eat some famous Giordano's pizza. It's definitely famous for a really good reason: it's f***ing awesome! experiencing deep-dish Chicago pizza is an almost religious experience for someone who loves pizza.

After eating some great pizza, I finally made it to the Mecca for Cubs fans:

Standing outside Wrigley Field was as amazing as I thought it would be. Seeing all the statues of past Cubs players and Harry Carey, it almost brought a tear to my eye. The only thing better than being outside of Wrigley was being able to go inside a few hours later.

It was surreal to be sitting in the bleachers of Wrigley after dreaming of going so many times. It was everything I wanted it to be. The only downside is that, naturally, at the game I went to, the Cubs would complete the weekend by getting swept by the Brewers. It was definitely disappointing, but at least I was there for it and got to experience the sadness with other like-minded people.

If you get a chance to go to Chicago, do it. The city is really great and there is a ton of stuff to do!
