I don't know about you, but I'm already ready for Halloween. Sure, Spring being here is nice, but there is nothing like the Autumn air and the chill of Halloween in the wind. Since, we still have a ways to go until we get back to October, let's bring some of that spookiness to March.

According to the website Haunted Rooms, one of the most haunted places in Indiana is right here in Evansville. And if you guess that that place is Willard Library, you'd be correct. On the list of Top 7 Haunted Places in Indiana, our local library ranks in at #4. Not too shabby. The lore of Willard Library has mostly to do with the Grey Lady, a haunting spectre that can occasionally be seen in windows or after hours inside the library. Personally, I've never seen her, but that's not to say she isn't there.

Haunted Rooms had this to say about Willard Library:

The Willard Library opened in Evansville, Indiana back in 1885. Stories of sightings and other paranormal activity did not start to get reported until 1936. When a maintenance worker told his employers he was quitting he informed them it was not because of the job itself, it was because he saw what he referred to as the “Grey Lady.” According to the worker she appeared to be dressed in garb very similar to when the library first opened. Who the Grey Lady could be remains a mystery. What does not remain a mystery are the sightings as she has been caught on camera on more than one occasion. There have been claims of cold spots in certain areas of the library as well as people smelling perfume that is not from anyone present. The Grey Lady herself has been seen in the basement, near the elevator, and also the restrooms.

It's very cool that our local library is recognized for being haunted and super cool that we are in the Top 7! You can find out more information about the library here!
