Darby the Dog’s Hilarious Therapy Session with Dr. Tim [Video]
This is an absolute scream! Darby the Dog, who's from right here in Owensboro, recently had an impromptu therapy session with "Dr. Tim." Lucky for us, it was all caught on camera. Darby's reactions are hysterical.
Darby belongs to Annette Wetzel, a former teacher and friend of mine. Mrs. Wetzel (that's what I still call her) taught algebra at Daviess County High School. Darby Jane is a seven-year-old rescue that she and her husband Doug adopted from the Davies County Animal Shelter. Mrs. Wetzel says, "I fell in love."
And, my goodness! Who wouldn't? Darby's facial expressions are SO funny. But the way she actually tries to talk is hilarious. I have to give major props to Dr. Tim too. Any good therapist knows that it's important for clients to feel comfortable. They need to believe they are in a safe space in which they can freely express how they are feeling to work through their emotions. As you can see in the video, Dr. Tim has made Darby COMPLETELY comfortable (she is sprawled out) and she has absolutely no issue letting him know exactly what's on her mind.
This morning, Mrs. Wetzel visited the WBKR morning show to share the story of how she met Darby and the setup for this hilarious video.
Tim, by the way, has a Masters in Communication, though I have a hunch he never dreamed he would be using that degree to speak so effectively with a pouting pooch. Oh and this fun too. Tim's also about to officially join the Wetzel family. On May 29th, he will officially become Mrs. Wetzel's son-in-law when he marries her daughter Larkin, who teaches at Burns Elementary School here in town.
As for Darby, she's learning to live with her recent rise to fame. Not only has her video landed her here at WBKR.com and the WBKR app, it has also landed on the official Facebook page of Dr. Pol, "America's Favorite Veterinarian" and host of The Incredible Dr. Pol as seen on National Geographic Wild and Disney+.
