Let's face it. We could all use a little help getting fit, and I have found a great app to track calorie consumption and expenditure.

For me, this is a really trying time. I've never had to worry about my weight, but in the last year I've put on 40 pounds. Now I have my doctor telling me to "tone up & stop letting the weight creep up." My ideal weight for my frame is 125-135. So this puts me in need of shedding about 30 pounds to get myself where I need to be... but how?!?

This is where  the new app that I recently installed onto my iPhone comes in really handy. It's called MyFitnessPal, and it's FREE! Not only is it mobile, but there is also a MyFitnessPal website. Any changes on the app automatically are applied to your online profile, and vise versa.

The app is simple to use. You enter in your age, height, weight, how much you would like to lose and it gives you a target calorie intake per day. As you enter in what you eat, and how much excercise you do, it balances a total calorie count for the day in a virtual diary. This way it's easy to keep track. So far everything that I have eaten and entered has been easy to find a listing for, and if there is no listing, it's easy to add a new one.

If you're looking to shed some extra weight, this is definitely a helpful tool!
