You can't even play video games anymore without getting spammed...

Playing video games is one of my favorite pastimes, however, one of my least favorite pastime is getting spammed by fake porn accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Unfortunately, these spam bots appear to have made their way to Xbox Live.

I noticed a few days ago that I had someone with a default profile picture added me as a friend. This isn't that uncommon, but then I noticed they had 0 Achievement points and had mass added 100+ friends in a few hours. This set off a few red flags, but I disregarded it. This was until I was playing Overwatch at around 1:30 in the morning and I recieved this string of messages (read from bottom to top)

Immediately, the asking my age question was very suspect, as that really doesn't happen. I answered "30" and this was the response:

Ahhh yes, it's totally typical for a 22 year old female to be playing Infinite Warfare in the middle of the night while also messaging random strangers about their time off from University.

Still, there was still a slight chance that this might be an unlikely real person.

Oh, a lil' fun eh? That's completely normal and a thing that is offered daily on Xbox Live. Let's see where this goes...

Nothing gives away "I'm about to try to sell you porn" more than a long diatribe about how your friend discovered making money on the internet and you thought she was out of her mind. Let's see if my guess of "Is it porn?" was correct:

Yep, it was porn. At this point I just started trolling the bot because why not?

Sadly, that was the last message exchanged between myself and the bot as even bots don't know how to respond to fictional murder of parents by a cam girl.

Anyway, the moral of the story is that if you have kids, you might want to monitor what messages they are getting while playing online.
