Car seat standards seem to change with every child. The seat you used for your first-born may be outdated by the time child number two comes along even though there's only two to three years separating them. To make sure your child is riding safely, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) is hosting a child car seat inspection clinic in the Washington Square Mall parking this Thursday afternoon (September 26th, 2019).

The clinic will take place from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. and is a partnership between the Sherrif's Office, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, "Child Passenger Safety Technicians" from the VCSO will be on site to make sure your seat is not only up to the current standard, but installed properly. All for free.

If you can't make it Thursday afternoon, the VCSO offers free inspections by appointment year-round.
