What do you do when you keep collecting vintage cars and antique gas pumps, but you don't have anywhere to put them? You expand to another building of course!

The Dream Car Museum at Bennett Motors is certainly a must-see for anyone who lives in the Tri-State, or is looking for something to do when friends and family visit from out of town. The original museum, still open inside the main building of Bennett Motors on the corner of Diamond and Heidelbach Avenues on Evansville's north side, is listed as the number one "Thing To Do" in Evansville by TripAdvisor, and I don't see anything knocking it from that perch anytime soon with the recent expansion into the second building on the other side of Heidelbach.

The expansion doesn't feature quite as many cars as the original, focusing more on restored, vintage gas pumps of all shapes and sizes. According to one Bennett Motors employee, the total pump collection of both buildings ranks as one of the top five collections in the United States!

Even if you don't consider yourself a "car person," you'll definitely appreciate the beauty of these flawless vehicles and pumps. I took a few minutes to walk through the expansion during the Dream Bigger Weekend, and was really impressed by the condition of the displays.

The museum is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 9:00 a.m. until 7:30 p.m., and Saturday's 9:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Admission is always free, however donations are accepted at the door of the main building with proceeds going to a different. local non-profit organization each month.
