The elevator at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee wasn't the only thing "going up"!

Over the weekend of January 18th - 20th, I went down to Memphis for the annual St. Jude Radio Cares Convention. The purpose of which is to get information and learn more about the remarkable advances in the treatment of childhood cancers happening at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as we gear up for our 3rd annual Radiothon on February 21st and 22nd.

I stayed in the historic Peabody Hotel in Downtown Memphis, where a majority of the seminars and events took place. My room was up on the seventh floor, meaning that I spent a considerable amount of time in the elevator. Sure, I could have used the stairs, but that's like exercise — "ain't nobody got time for that."

Each time I stepped into any one of the four elevators in the hotel there to greet me, let me know which way I was going, and what floor I was on, was possibly the sexiest elevator voice in existence. This wasn't some computer-generated voice. Her's was a soft, slightly-raspy speech with an inviting tone that made the simple task of riding in an elevator feel like a naughty thrill.

I was able to get some audio through an recording app on my phone. I'd never been so happy to arrive at the main lobby.
