Another week, another round of severe weather in the tri-state.

Are you sick of my articles about severe weather? Well, I'm tired of writing them! Unfortunately, I have to because there's another threat this weekend.

MARCH 29-30 STORM

From the National Weather Service:

Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are forecast this weekend, especially on Sunday. The thunderstorms on Sunday could pose a severe risk, with tornadoes, very large hail, and damaging wind gusts all possible. Spotter activation may be needed this weekend. Spotters should stay aware of the latest forecast updates for additional information on possible activation.

Our friend Wayne Hart, chief meteorologist from Eyewitness News posted that a major spring storm is moving in, and we are right in the center of the action.

Our focus this week will be on the next major spring storm system set to impact our region on Sunday. You'll be hearing a lot about this from various sources since the SPC has already included the Tri-State in a SLIGHT (level 2 of 5) threat for severe storms along with a large area from Chicago to New Orleans. Yes, there is a chance for significant severe storms (all threats possible) if all the elements come together at the right time. But that's still an IF...and we won't have much confidence in the details until Friday. So until then, enjoy our break from the storms throughout the work week, and we'll keep you posted with daily updates.

This comes on the heels of the last spring storm that produced tornadoes and large hail in the area that caused major damage.

Weather forecasters knew that there could potentially be an increase in tornadic activity this year due to La Nina.
