Shakti Solstice Fest 2025: A Yoga Festival Blooms in Owensboro

Black Lotus Yoga Studio is a perfect example of "if you build it, they will come." I've watched owner Ericka Roberts-Brake boldly grow her yoga practice over the past several years, quickly outgrowing spaces along the way. She and her fellow instructors have created a welcoming community of people coming together for wellness and strength of the body and mind.

Ericka and her fellow yogi, Gigi Grant, are seeking to continue that mission of creating community with the first Yoga Festival in the Owensboro area this year. "You can find lots of Yoga festivals near us and across the country, it was time to bring one to our hometown."

"We believe now more than ever we NEED community. There is such a divide amongst people. After the pandemic, there was a great disconnect. Yoga literally means “to yoke” or “Union” and what better way to bring people together than a yoga festival?" she shared.

What to Expect at Shakti Solstice Fest 2025

"We want to focus on showcasing yoga teachers from all around our community as well as Holistic vendors that pair well with yoga, like natural skincare products." Local businesses like The Little Healer, Big Roots Farm, and Aja'Leena's are collaborating for a day of "Yoga & All Things Healing." Some other things to look forward to are Sound Baths, Guided Breathwork, Workshops, Dance, Kirtan & Chanting, and Natural & Handmade Products for purchase.
