‘School of Rock’ Hitting TV in New Nickelodeon Series
It’s been over a decade since we all first rooted for Jack Black and his cast of talented kids in ‘School of Rock,’ and those of you who have never given up on a continuation will be happy to know one is finally, finally coming!
Nickelodeon has teamed up with Paramount to order a 13-episode live-action series based on the popular 2003 movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The TV show will also star teacher Dewey Finn — Jack Black’s offbeat character — and his musically inclined students, who find themselves in whacky situations at their traditional prep school.
The film’s original director Richard Linklater and producer Scott Rudin will return to head the Nick project. Production is scheduled to begin this fall in order to make a spring 2015 debut. Hopefully that means the cast will be announced very soon!
