Westside commuters are in for more traffic delays as repair work is scheduled to resume on the Lloyd Expressway! In a statement released earlier today, The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the State Road 62 patching and resurface project will resume at the beginning of March.

Beginning on or around Monday, March 4, E and B Paving will close the westbound driving lane of S.R. 62 from Boehne Camp Road to Schutte Road, the westbound passing lane from Rosenberger Avenue to Schutte Road and Schutte Road to the Posey/Vanderburg County line for concrete patching work.

Lane restrictions will be in place around the clock with lanes restricted to 15 feet. Inclement weather could cause a delay in the closure schedule. Last spring, contractors with E and B Paving began the $3.4 million project to patch and resurface S.R. 62 from the Posey County line to Wabash Avenue.

During the 2018 construction season, most of the hot mix asphalt resurfacing work was finished. This spring contractors will be working on concrete/cement patching. This operations identifies issues such as pavement distress, joint deterioration, corner breaks or other issues in a localized area of pavement.

Contractors with then make permanent repairs to the affected area. Concrete patching operations are expected to be complete by early summer, depending upon weather conditions. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
