Muhlenberg Opens New Entertainment Complex/Sports Bar

Just in time for the dog days of summer, The Rustic Spur opened its doors this week and we are super excited about a new venue for a variety of fun for everyone.

The Rustic Spur is located where the old Purple Onion Restaurant was located or for those not familiar with that restaurant how about Sarah Michael's.

A few months ago I got to talk with one of the owners Hallie Alford and she laid out the plans for the bar/entertainment complex and here's what she told me:

It’s a sport/entertainment bar, fun for the whole family! We have axe throwing, pool tables, a mini putt putt hole, a card room & several other games! It’s a beautiful two-story building with plenty of room for our stage for live entertainment! We’ll also have an outside patio area with corn hole boards for summer & heaters for winter! We hope to open in May (beginning of June at the latest) Me & my husband are doing all the work inside the building ourselves, the reason why it’s taking a while to get up & going! My husband has a whole other business that he owns that has kept him busy & I'm a full-time mom of two so we have to split our time between everything. We’re so excited to get open & give everyone in Muhlenberg a fun place to enjoy!

The Rustic Spur is in the midst of all the delicious food spots in downtown Central City across the street from Stellian's Pizzeria (home of the 8 lb pizza) and What's the Scoop where you can get the most amazing ice cream brought in from Chaney's Dairy Barn in Bowling Green and incredible homemade desserts too!

They hosted the UFC fights this weekend along with a DJ and Karaoke. This place sounds like something Western Kentucky has needed and we are super pumped to welcome them to town.

Twin Lakes Ice Creamery & Inn

Twin Lakes Ice Creamery and Inn is literally the stuff dreams are made of. It's located right outside the center of Leitchfield on Main Street.

They make all their ice creams homemade right in the shop. They have around 19 different flavors including the classic (strawberry, chocolate, vanilla) and then the outside-of-the-box specialty flavors like (red velvet, cookie monster, fairy dust, and banana pudding). Their claim to fame...they don't fluff their ice cream to get more out of the batch. It is packed full of goodness.
