Marvel’s New Animated ‘Spider-Man’ Goes Homemade in First Clip
Spider-Man will have his official Marvel Homecoming in just a few weeks’ time, but the animated incarnation of our beloved wall-crawler is coming home as well. Meet the new animated Marvel’s Spider-Man, as a first clip sees the webhead going low-tech in a battle against the Scorpion.
TVGuide debuted a first look at the new series, which reboots continuity from the prior Ultimate Spider-Man series and its multiple incarnations since. This time out, Peter begins with a redesigned, but equally homemade costume, sharing his first battle with Scorpion. Check out the key art beneath the clip as well:
Rumored to include Spider-Gwen and Miles Morales, the new series is headed up by story editor Kevin Shinick and supervising director Philip Pignotti, previously of Marvel’s Avengers Assemble. Says Disney XD boss Marc Buhaj said of the series:
Spider-Man is the biggest action hero in the world. He is an iconic character whose duality makes him both relatable and aspirational for the Disney XD audience. [The new series is] a fresh take on a beloved classic that will engage both new and existing Spidey fans with its compelling drama, exciting action and the signature sense of comedy.
Marvel’s Spider-Man will premiere on Disney XD this summer, so stay tuned.
