Located in Brazil, Indiana is a tunnel that is so creepy it has been nicknamed Hells Gate Tunnel.  Legend says there are seven gates to hell located throughout the Wabash Valley, and this tunnel is said to be one of them.

What makes Hells Tunnel so creepy?  The story says that years ago there was a train derailment near the area, and many people passed away.  After some searing online, I can't seem to find any reports confirming the story of the train derailment, but there are train tracks above the tunnel, and many times there's a kernel of truth inside local lore.

Seven Gates of Hell Located in the Midwest

According to Indiana Ghost Detectives Hells Gate tunnel not only has a tragic past, it is also said to be a gate to Hell.  What exactly does it mean that something is a gate to Hell?  To be totally honest, I'm not sure, but I think  I'm fine with never finding out.

They say that legend has it there are seven gates to Hell located throughout the Wabash Valley Countryside. They go on to share the two legends about Hells Tunnel.

The main legend about Hell's Gate was that a train derailed on top of the gate and all passengers were killed. You are supposed to come to Hell's Gate at night for the paranormal activity to appear. There is a guard that watches over Hell's Gate that will appear after 30 mins of being under the bridge, the man is nearly 7 feet tall and will chase you.

 

Indiana Ghost Detectives also go on to say that you should flash your headlights three times before entering Hells Gate tunnel.

...flash your lights three times. Then go through and turn around. Go through again, but stop in the middle this time. Turn your car off and sit there for 10 minutes. Then the graffiti will start to glow and blood will run down the walls.
