Kat Got a New Tattoo – Check Out The Pics! [PHOTOS]
Last week, I paid a visit to see my friends at Revolution Ink for a little tattoo therapy. Check out my latest addition from the lovely Harlie Starnes!
My last couple of tattoos have been done at Revolution Ink. One of the things I love most about the shop is that it is a family based business. Shane Klos tattooed my chest piece [HERE] and my cassette tape on my inner arm [HERE]. I knew that my next piece would come from Revolution, but I wanted Shane's younger sister, Harlie, to do it. She has been the shop apprentice for some time now, and I have been following her work, watching her grow and progress. I was impressed.
I had never been tattooed by a woman, and I wanted Harlie to be the first female artist to ink my skin. Back in September she posted some of her drawings on her Instagram page, and I got super excited when I spotted this awesome poison bottle she had drawn! I knew this was the one!
Originally I was going to have Harlie put this on the back of my upper arm beside my cassette tape. The only problem with that idea is that I didn't quite have enough room to really make that work, so I decided to make the jump, and go with my forearm. This is my first tattoo below my elbow.
I really loved watching her work, and chatting with her. Like everyone in the shop, Harlie is easy to talk to and just has an amazing energy.
I have a great deal of respect for any woman who can hold her own in a male-dominated industry. Harlie is a total rockstar already at 19 and I know this young woman is going to go far. It was an honor to get to sit in her chair. She did such a great job with my tattoo! I ♥ it!!!
